As a part of the launch of the book Criminal Justice a New Zealand Introduction, there was the most impressive panel of people I've seen assembled in one room. Each talked about the biggest issue facing criminal justice as they saw it. the speakers were:
  • Department of Corrections Chief Executive Ray Smith Children’s Commissioner Judge Andrew Becroft
  • Secretary & CEO of the Ministry of Justice Andrew Bridgman
  • Multi-award-winning crime author and journo Steve Braunias
  • UC Dean of Law Professor Ursula Cheer
  • New Zealand Police Deputy Commissioner Viv Rickard
If you're interested in it, you can get the book from the library or buy it here.

Even though I am not really into these kind of things, I am still somehow relieved that I have known these issues. At least, I will be able to share this knowledge that I have gained from this article to others who might be interested with this topic. I do have some people in mind so there will not be some issues in determining whom to share this information with. And I am sure that they will do feel good about it as well. Anyway, thank you so much for giving us an idea about this.

New Zealand's justice system is part of our system of government. It's made up of a number of institutions, groups of people and individuals who make, apply and enforce the law.
